The Electro-Voice EVOLVE 50 system is a pair of powered column speakers with built-in subwoofers. It is simple, reliable, and sufficient for a small ceremony and reception where the music is background level. We include two wireless microphones for toasts and the officiant. The limitation is output — if you have a DJ who wants to push the volume for dancing, the EVOLVE 50 will run out of headroom around 100 guests.
The d&b E12 is our most popular wedding system. The E12 loudspeakers deliver clear, even coverage across a mid-size room without being visually intrusive — they are compact enough to tuck next to a DJ booth or behind a floral arrangement. We pair them with E12X-SUB subwoofers for low-end warmth. Four wireless microphones cover the officiant, best man, maid of honor, and a spare for impromptu toasts.
The d&b V10P system is what we bring when the client has a live band, a 300+ guest list, or an outdoor venue where sound dissipates quickly. The V10P loudspeakers can be ground-stacked on stands or flown from truss for clean sightlines. This system handles a full band mix — drums, bass, guitars, horns, vocals — with clarity and punch. We include six or more wireless microphones and a dedicated audio engineer to mix the event live.
All systems include a digital mixer (Allen & Heath dLive or SQ series), all cabling, and a sound engineer for the duration of the event. We handle setup, sound check, and teardown.
Visual Display Options
More weddings now include a visual element beyond just lighting. Slideshows, live camera feeds, ceremony video for overflow seating, and custom motion graphics are common requests. Here is how the three main display options compare for weddings:
Projection — The most affordable option. A 10,000-lumen projector and a screen (typically 8–12 feet wide) costs less than an LED wall and works well in dark or dim venues. The downside is projection needs a controlled light environment. If your venue has large windows or is outdoors, a projector cannot compete with ambient light. We use projection for ceremony venues (churches, synagogues) and dimly lit reception spaces.
LED Wall — The premium option. An LED wall is bright enough for any environment, including outdoor daytime events. A 10-foot wide LED wall at 2.6mm pixel pitch delivers a sharp, vivid image visible from across a ballroom. We mount them on ground-support frames so no rigging from the ceiling is needed. LED walls are popular for displaying live camera feeds of the ceremony to large audiences, or as a visual backdrop for the dance floor with custom content. Starting at $2,500/day for a 10-foot wall.
TV Monitors — For smaller or more intimate settings, we place 65″–85″ commercial TVs on stands around the venue. These work well for slideshow displays during cocktail hour, menu displays, and table assignment boards. They are quick to set up and can be positioned anywhere with a power outlet. Day-Of Timeline: AV Setup for Weddings
Your planner or coordinator will build the master timeline, but the AV setup needs to integrate with every other vendor. Here is a typical day-of flow:
Load-In (T minus 6–8 hours) — Our crew arrives and unloads equipment from the truck. We coordinate with the florist, decorator, and venue staff to avoid conflicts. Heavy items (speakers, LED wall panels, truss) go in first. We need clear access to the stage or DJ area before tables and centerpieces are placed.
Sound Check (T minus 3–4 hours) — Once speakers and microphones are set, we run a full sound check. This includes testing every wireless microphone, checking for interference from other wireless devices in the venue, tuning the system to the room using measurement microphones and DSP, and setting volume levels for ceremony vs. reception. If a live band is performing, they do their sound check during this window.
Ceremony (T minus 0) — During the ceremony, our engineer manages microphone levels for the officiant, readers, and musicians. Ambient music plays through the main system at background levels. We keep a backup wireless mic ready in case of any issues.
Cocktails (T plus 1 hour) — As guests move to the cocktail area, we transition audio to background music in that space (often a separate portable system). If the ceremony and reception are in the same room, we use the flip time to adjust speaker positions, test DJ equipment, and prepare lighting cues for the reception.
Reception (T plus 2–6 hours) — The main event. Our engineer manages all audio transitions: introduction announcements, first dance, parent dances, toasts, cake cutting, and open dancing. Lighting cues are synchronized to these moments. Volume levels increase gradually from dinner through dancing — we do not blast dance music while people are eating.
