How many speakers do I need for 100 guests?
For 100 guests, a pair of point-source loudspeakers with a subwoofer is usually the right answer — two EVOLVE 50 columns for speeches and background music, or two d&b V10Ps with a V-GSUB when a DJ or live act needs real output. That formula holds from 50 to about 200 guests. Beyond 200, compact line arrays like the d&b CCL8 or XSL8 take over, because coverage and headroom matter more than raw volume. We spec the room, not just the headcount — a reverberant Manhattan loft needs a different system than an open Brooklyn courtyard of the same size.
Do you provide a sound engineer with the rental?
On request, yes. Simple systems can be dry-hired — we deliver, set up, tune the room, and walk you through operation before we leave. For live music, panel discussions with multiple wireless microphones, or rider-driven shows, add an A2 or front-of-house engineer for the duration of the event, including d&b-experienced system techs. Line array deployments are modeled in d&b ArrayCalc before load-in and tuned on-site with R1, whether or not an engineer stays for the show.
Do you rent wireless microphones with speaker systems?
Yes — a Shure QLXD24/SM58 wireless handheld system rents for $150/day, and we carry Shure ULX-D and Axient Digital for multi-channel productions, including quad-channel kits, gooseneck bases for panels, and PSM 300/1000 in-ear monitoring for performers. We handle frequency coordination before every show, which matters in Manhattan’s crowded RF environment — a scan and a plan beat a dropout mid-speech. Wireless packages are quoted alongside the speaker system so everything arrives cabled, paired, and tested.
Can I rent a sound system for an outdoor event in NYC?
Yes — we regularly deploy sound systems on rooftops, in courtyards, and at open-air events across the five boroughs. Outdoor work changes the spec: no walls means more cabinets for even coverage, power has to be planned (distro from house power or generator), and gear needs weather protection. How do you keep bass from bothering the neighbors?

Our d&b SL-SUB, XSL-SUB, and CCL-SUB arrays direct low-frequency energy at the audience with steep rejection behind the system — bass goes at the dance floor, not through the wall into the adjacent gallery or up through a rooftop into apartments. It’s standard practice on our mid-size and large systems.
How far in advance should I book a speaker rental?
We recommend booking 2–4 weeks ahead for standard events, and earlier for large line array systems or peak season (September–December and Fashion Week), when inventory commits fast.
