LED walls generate their own light — typically 1,000–5,000+ nits. They look brilliant in any lighting condition, including full sunlight. For outdoor events, bright lobbies, or venues where you can’t dim the lights, LED is the clear winner.
Image Quality and Resolution
Projectors: Modern 4K laser projectors like the Barco UDM-4K22 deliver incredibly sharp images at native 4K resolution. The image quality is excellent for presentations, video playback, and even projection mapping.
LED walls: Resolution depends on pixel pitch and total wall size. A fine-pitch wall (1.5mm) viewed from 8+ feet looks absolutely smooth. For very close viewing at trade show booths, fine-pitch LED is unmatched. For large venue displays where viewing distance is 20+ feet, even a 2.9mm pitch looks striking.
Size and Scalability
Projectors can create enormous images — a single projector can fill a 40-foot screen. For even larger surfaces, we can edge-blend multiple projectors. However, you need the throw distance (room depth) to achieve large images.
LED walls are modular — add more panels for a bigger display. There’s no throw distance requirement, so they work in shallow rooms. However, very large LED walls (40’+ wide) require significant rigging infrastructure and budget.
